Sometimes a song pops up on your playlist and you just know you want to do something with it. That's exactly what happened with Girl From Louisiana by Dylan Scott. I loved the song and it gave me the opportunity to try creating a more advanced dance.
The famous rocking chair step made its way into the choreography, and that took me straight back about two years to when Bex and I decided we were going to make how-to videos explaining line dance steps.
What could possibly go wrong?
Let's just say I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. The whole thing turned into such a crack-up that the videos never eventuated. If you fancy a laugh, head over to my Facebook page and have a look!
Thankfully, my choreography journey has moved on a bit since then. Girl From Louisiana became a high beginner dance, giving me a chance to play with the music and include steps that offer a little more of a challenge.
It's fun looking back at those early attempts and realising how much you learn by simply giving things a go. You don't have to know everything before you start. Sometimes you just need to have a crack and see what happens.
