One of the things I enjoy about choreography is finding songs that work for different dance levels. Not every dance needs complicated steps or lots of turns. Sometimes the challenge is creating something simple, enjoyable and accessible.
That was the aim with Gone Gone Gone by Casey Barnes. I wanted to create a beginner dance that people could learn and enjoy without feeling they had to master lots of tricky steps first.
When you're creating for beginners, it's important to think about how the steps flow, how easy they are to recognise and how they fit the music. A dance can look simple on paper, but making it feel natural on the floor takes thought too.
Gone Gone Gone was published in April 2026, and it became another opportunity to keep developing my choreography skills and build up a collection of dances for different levels.
I love seeing people get more confident as they learn. If a dance helps someone feel comfortable on the floor and enjoy the music, that's a pretty good result.
