June’s 1st Friday of the month theme was Goth. Honestly, I’ve never dressed up so much in my life since I started this line dance journey. Hubby reckons I need to convert the spare room into a line dancing wardrobe – boots, hats, jeans, and all. (I mean, he’s not wrong – can you really have too many pairs of jeans?)
Mid-month, Bex, Michaela and I travelled to Whakatāne for Boots n Beats first hoedown. From helping out Willie the guitarist with a cheeky karaoke session (sorry I took over Willie!) to dancing on the waterfront with Pauline and Blair, the weekend was packed with music, laughter, and new friends. Meeting the girls from Kawerau (Kiri and KC), who were only a few weeks into line dancing but already smashing it, was a highlight. Can't wait to go hang with them for their social in October.
“And then came something new – Bex and I launched the Bootscootin’ Podcast: These Boots Are Made for Talkin’. Little did we know just how much ground our boots were about to cover – from the dance floor to the airwaves, talking and walking us into a whole new adventure!
Reflection:
Line dancing keeps proving it’s not just about the steps – it’s about saying yes to new experiences, whether that’s dressing up, singing out of tune, or starting a podcast.
