December was one for the books. On the 6th, I went on my first road trip with the Clive Boot Scootin’ crew to Rhythm n' Lines Christmas Party in Gisborne.
I was nervous about being away from home and out of my comfort zone, but what a weekend! Meeting dancers from Gisborne, Rotorua, and beyond, sharing stories, and dancing until my feet literally ached – it was the start of some pretty special friendships.
The next week, it was time for the Christmas Party. To my surprise (and delight), I won an award for “Most Improved” dancer of the year. I was buzzing!
And then came the challenges: learning Shoot Tequila for the summer Tequila Challenge (so fun, so sassy) then dancing it with Bex. And the infamous Despacito Workshop – which nearly fried my brain. Let’s just say Part C took me six months to nearly nail, it's on the bucket list.

Growth doesn’t come from staying comfortable – it daring to join in even when you don’t know where all the steps will lead you.
