Doubling Down on Dancing

By October, I was officially hooked on line dancing (though to be fair it probably happened after day one). One class a week wasn’t enough – I started going to two beginner classes plus popping into weekend sessions whenever I could.

And... my very first Gingham Line Dancing Party. I’ll never forget the buzz in the room, the sea of checks and cowboy boots, and the joy of dancing with a group of (pretty much complete strangers... who would have thought).

During the day walking into 'The Shed', full of strangers for classes still made my stomach flip, and there were moments when I thought, “I haven’t remembered a single step from last week.” But the music would kick in, the boots would shuffle, and somehow, I’d find my way again. With my feet quite often moving at double time to the music and throwing in extra ones as I went!

Every class was a reminder that progress isn’t about being perfect – it’s about showing up.

Reflection
Confidence comes from repetition, not from waiting until you’re “ready.” Sometimes just turning up is the bravest step you can take.
