A Whirlwind of Music and Dancing

This month was a whirlwind of line dancing and country music. Mid-month I was off to Christchurch for the Kip Moore concert. What a night! I went with Maree from Wellington (who dances with Silver Lining Line Dance in Whitby), and she taught me 3 Tequilas – choreographed by her instructor Christine Stewart.  Hubby also came along, as well as good friends Johhnny, Vedette and Rhys Maree's partner.

Dancing live in concert, surrounded by the energy of a crowd that love country as much as I do, is something else. The only downside? Getting kicked out of the Whiskey Bar afterwards… let’s just say we’ll leave that one in the memory bank!

Reflection
September reminded me how dancing and music connect people across places and stages of life. From being supported by my local crew to making friends who share the same passion, I felt the stirrings of a community growing around me.

If you’re new to line dancing (or even thinking about trying), don’t let nerves stop you – say yes, step in, and enjoy the ride. You never know where one dance might lead you.
